Autism: it is time to listen

Tomorrow is the day to “Light it up Blue!” Each year on April 2nd Autism Speaks asks individuals, businesses and world monuments to take time out of their busy schedules to join them in their effort to Light It Up Blue. There is still time to visit the website and join in on the effort.

One simple way to show support is to drop by your local Home Depot and purchase a blue Autism Speaks light bulb. Home Depot completely supports this effort by selling the bulbs to the general public in order to allow you to light up your home, business, school or house of worship in the color blue. The local Home Depot close to Wheaton, Illinois is located at 475 South Schmale Road in Carol Stream. They fully stocked their shelves with the light bulbs in order to support this great effort.

It is just that easy to show your support! All you have to do is to change your outdoor light bulb from your typical white bulb to the beautiful blue color. This simple act helps to bring much needed attention to the autism effort. As Autism Speaks says, “It’s time to listen.”

Autism Speaks is a social network that allows parents of children with autism to develop an outlet to share their stories and experiences. They appreciate any backup and support that they receive. Although you may not be able to understand their day to day encounters, you are still able to assist these families. Every financial donation will be able to transform the lives of those around you.

Your home may not be as large or popular as the Empire State Building, Niagara Falls in Canada, the Sydney Opera House, the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Christ the Redeemer Statue, the International Space Station in Earth’s Orbit, Elvis’ Graceland or the New Orleans Superdome, but guaranteed your blue will shine just as bright! Please consider sharing this effort with your family and your friends.

Besides Home Depot, Autism Speaks is very appreciative to their other 2013 Corporate Partners and Friends, including:

· Babies-R-Us

· Build-A-Bear Workshop - Where Best Friends are Made

· Coinstar

· Coleman

· Covelli Enterprises

· Joe’s Crab Shack

· Modell’s Sporting Goods (where you just Gotta Go To Mo’s)

· Panera Bread

· Shop Rite

· Toys-R-Us

· White Castle

Now is the time to ‘Give Hope and Take Action!’ The one in 88 can no longer wait. Beginning tomorrow, make certain that you Light It Up Blue and support this wonderful cause!

The next step will be to get President Obama and Congress to help. Perhaps they would be able to develop and implement a comprehensive national plan to tackle the autism cause. Now is the time to get involved!
