Autism and the Red Cross babysitter training course

FEAT (Families for Effective Autism Treatment) Houston has teamed up with the Red Cross to provide a babysitter training course and certification.  The Red Cross babysitter certification course is a great foundation for teens who are interested in becoming a babysitter.  The course covers how to handle emergencies, how to be a good role model and how to care for children and infants.

This particular course being offered by FEAT Houston, adds learning about Autism and ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis).  Budding babysitters will get a foundational understanding around ABA and how it might apply to their babysitting experience. Students will learn by lecture, video, handouts and excercises that will help renforce their learning and develop their confidence.

Adding this component to an already great training will give sitters and parents alike more confidence in their babysitting adventures.
