No child is fundamentally disordered. Every child is born completely perfect and equipped with all the gifts that he needs to fulfill his purpose on earth.
At this writing, according to the Center for Disease Control, 1 in 89 children in the United States have been diagnosed with varying degrees of Autism. Over 60 % of those diagnosed are males. The incidence of Autism diagnoses have risen more than 23% in the past 5 years in the U.S. Similar statistics apply in the United Kingdom.
Children with such diagnoses all present with one common denominator in varying degrees—from a very young age, a child with Autistic tendencies is absent to some degree. He is somewhere else and does not engage and interact with others in a way that we view as typical.
It is time for us to understand that Autism is not a disorder. The amazing children whom we have been labeled as Autistic have come into our world with the inherent ability for out-of-body travel. They have a deeply evolved child spirit. As their adult guides, parents and professionals alike have a responsibility to help these deeply spirited children to utilize this gift within a controlled framework.
Part of the question is this—who is disconnected? Is the child disconnected from us, as is the common assumption? Or are we as a society, so profoundly disconnected from the higher dimensions where Autistic children spend so much time that there is little hope for us to connect to our child? From a spiritual perspective, we must accept, embrace and repair our own disconnect in order to bridge the connection to our Autistic children, children I call Children of the Cosmos, a new guide that can help us approach autism in a whole new way.
When we begin to spend more time in his space with him, we will discover gifts that we can bring back to our day- to-day lives on this planet that will help us formulate a new perspective. Not only will this process rebuild our connection to these beautiful children, but that same repair process can serve as a model for how we can begin to repair all the destructive disconnection that is bringing such pain and suffering into the world as a whole.
