A regular tradition each summer is the county fair. Throughout the country, county fairs are held to showcase local agriculture, livestock, products, arts, crafts, and all manner of trade and businesses. Summer is a time to celebrate the fruits of our labor, and this year at the Clatsop County Fair, an authors' booth will feature local authors. Lisa Reid, the owner of Lucy’s Books in Astoria, Oregon, has gathered a number of local authors together for the Author’s Booth at this year’s Clatsop County Fair. The following authors will be available to, sell and sign copies of their books, and to give you an opportunity to talk about their work.

John Rekart, author of Rollin’ On the River, a book about the Columbia River pilots will share his knowledge of how those big ships get up and down the river without running into snags, fishing boats, sandbars, islands and other obstacles.

Catherine Al-Meten, poet, author, and owner of Whales & Nightingales Press, will be on hand with her books, Shadows: A Collection of Poetry, Elements of Tarot: A Guide for a Spiritual Journey, and her latest collection of poetry, Woman on the Run: A Collection of Poetry and Essays.
