Poet Don Welch will give the keynote presentation and others --- including repeat presenter John Price --- will read from and sign their books at the annual Nebraska Book Festival this weekend on the campus of the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Welch, who speaks Friday evening to open the festival, has written many books of poetry and taught at the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Price, who teaches creative nonfiction at UNO and is the author of three books of memoir and autobiography, has edited a new book of writing about the tallgrass prairie. The book, "The Tallgrass Prairie Reader," from the University of Iowa Press, is to be available June 1.

Authors including Price, Kelly Madigan, (an award-winning poet who, like Price, was awarded by the National Endowment for the Arts), Mary K. Stillwell, Eileen Wirth, and Marge Saiser, will make their presentations Saturday according to this schedule. Also scheduled are a workshop on writing about your family history and a workshop on creating fictional characters.
