Author Walter Kirn visits Billings Barnes & Noble on April 25

Author Walter Kirn will visit the Barnes & Noble in Billings on Friday April 25. His visit coincides with the release of his latest book Blood Will Out: The True Story of a Murder, a Mystery, and a Masquerade, which was released on March 10 of this year.

Blood Will Out is a book that is part memoir and part true crime. It begins with Mr. Kirn taking a hunting dog from Montana to New York City to deliver it to Clark Rockefeller, who adopted the dog over the Internet. Kirn and Rockefeller develop a friendship which lasts throughout the years until it is discovered that Clark Rockefeller is truly Christian Gerhartsreiter. Not only is Gerhartsreiter an imposter, but he is also a child kidnapper and murderer. Blood Will Out tells the story of how a friendship between the writer and the conman grew while a huge crime story was hiding in plain sight.

Walter Kirn is the author of numerous books, two of which have been made into films. Thumbsucker was adapted into a 2005 film starring Keanu Reeves and Vince Vaughn. Up In The Air was adapted into a film starring George Clooney, which received numerous accolades including a nomination for Best Picture at the 2010 Academy Awards. Kirn lives in Livingston, Montana.

Kirn will be signing books at the Billings Barnes & Noble on Friday April 25 at 7 P.M. The bookstore is located at 530 S. 24th Street West and can be contacted at 406-655-9500.
