With “The Host,” Meyer has created a world where aliens are taking over the minds of humans, erasing their memories in the process.

During an interview with Celebuzz.com, Meyer said she believes she would be one of the first humans to be turned to be taken over by the parasitic aliens.

“I kind of think I would get caught,” Meyer said during the Celebuzz interview. “I’m really oblivious. I don’t think I would notice the people were different. I think I would just be like going along, and then they’d get me.”

In Meyer’s novel, the main character, Melanie, does notice that something is happening when her mind is possessed. In hopes of protecting the people she loves, Melanie decides to fight back against the invader in her mind.

Meyer’s book was originally released in 2008. The on-screen version of the story, starring Saoirse Ronan as Melanie, is scheduled to be released on March 29.
