Recently we reviewed author Chanz’e Witcher’s new book All I Want, and we interviewed her about her work and aspirations. All I Want, written by Chanz’e Witcher and illustrated by Sherilyn Jones, is the first in her new series of spiritual empowerment books for children ages 4 to 8.
Well, we have been following the progress of this new author and we are glad to report that recently her book All I Want has been nominated for Book Design of the Year 2013 and Witcher was nominated Los Angeles Book Festival Author of the Year 2013. The book was also selected for The Hudson Book Festival.
Recently, Witcher was featured by talk show host Dr. Lelitia Wright, on The Wright Place (TM) TV Show. In her interview with Dr. Wright, Chanz’e Witcher challenged authors and viewers who have a dream to “put their best foot forward and just go for it! The sky is the limit. You can do anything you set your heart to; just start today!”
In the interview, Witcher also spoke about her soon to be released adult series. The beginning of the series is a memoir She Never Met a Stranger, a culmination of Witcher’s life experiences and those of her grandmother. In the book, Witcher hopes to pass on life lessons from one generation to the other, while celebrating the life of her grandmother.
When asked what advice she would give to writers, she admonished writers not to allow negative opinions “to stand in the way of your bestseller” and encouraged them to “change the way [they] think and [their] thought process.”
