Author and artist Katie Gardenia's upcoming visit announced (Photos)

On Jan. 15, 2014, the Edison Ford Winter Estates announced that author and artist Katie Gardenia will appear at the Edison Ford Shoppe. The date and location will be Jan. 18, 2014 from 1 to 5 p.m., at the Bell Tower Shops in Fort Myers, Fla.

"Gardenia started the Bubble Room Restaurant on Captiva Island. She also authored the wonderful book, 'A Bubble Moment,' of art, memories and recipes.

In addition, the artist side of Gardenia creates unique textile sculpture, steampunk art and jewelry. Using industrial materials (clock parts and machinery), Gardenia hand dyes her textiles with coffee and herbs to create her final art pieces." - Winter Estates

There will be a “Trunk Show” at Edison Ford Shoppe at Bell Tower Shops.

"The show will include a dazzling one-day exhibit of this talented lady's work. There will be a book signing as well." - Winter Estates

The Edison Ford is the winner of the 2009 National Stewardship Award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

"Our estate is also an official project of 'Save America’s Treasures' at the National Trust for Historic Preservation, a Florida Historic Landmark and a National Register Historic Site." - Winter Estates

When it comes to the Edison Ford Winter Estates, it is open daily from 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
