Cibo Racconto, a relaxed Italian restaurant in Rosemont offers homemade Italian cuisine in a casual atmosphere for lunch and dinner at a price that can't be beat.

Cibo's menu is full of classic and unique dishes, all for $9.99 or less. Each dish is made-to-order from quality ingredients imported straight from Italy and prepared according to owner Lee Mugnolo's own family recipes.

Cibo Racconto's authentic menu highlights include the hearty porchetta ($7.99), a thinly sliced pork tenderloin sandwich inspired by the panini stands of Italy; lumache arrosto ($8.99), snail-shaped pasta topped with San Marzano tomato sauce, ricotta cheese, roasted red peppers, and grilled Italian sausage; and the panizza ($5.99-$6.99), a panini-pizza hybrid stuffed with a choice of spinach and garlic, four cheeses, prosciutto and pesto, or chicken and oven-roasted tomatoes. Pizza selections include a stone-baked and hand-stretched thin crust variety as well as a traditional raised dough pan pizza with an array of tasty toppings. Dessert lovers can enjoy a decadent, rotating selection of cakes, cookies, and pastries, as well as 16 different gelatos, all made in-house.

Cibo is also home to four weekly specials.

On Mondays, the restaurant offers $4 pasta marinara dishes. Choose from fettucinne, shell-shaped lumache, or rigatoni cut pasta (reg. $6.99-$7.99), all draped in bursting-with-flavor San Marzano tomato sauce.

Return to Cibo Racconto every Tuesday for $5 bottles of imported Italian red or white wine; choices include Ciccariello Pinot Grigio, Mezzo Chardonnay, Ciccariello Merlot, and Mezzo Cabernet bottles.

Wednesdays bring a dinner deal for two; for just $20 (excludes tax) after 4 p.m., two people can each enjoy a pasta or entrée along with a bottle of the Ciccariello Pinot Grigio, Mezzo Chardonnay, Ciccariello Merlot, or Mezzo Cabernet.

Sundays, Cibo hosts a Sunday Family Dinner, a four-course feast served from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m., including a choice of one side, one salad, two pasta dishes, and one entrée, and priced at $36 for four people (plus tax). There is a $9 fee for each additional guest, and kids 5 and under eat for free.

Cibo Racconto is located in near northwest suburban Rosemont near O'Hare International Airport, Allstate Arena, and the Rosemont Theatre, serves classic pasta dishes, flavorful sandwiches, stone-baked pizzas, and signature dishes such as the panizza (a pizza-panini hybrid).
