I had been waiting for a long time to try Ikaro's rotisserie grilled offal (organ meats). They take a hiatus from the weekend rotisserie in the summer and often run out early of this authentic, prized Greek specialty.
Recently, I used a Groupon and went fairly early to dinner. It worked out! They still had Kokoretsi "Zagoria", lamb organs of heart, spleen, liver, etc., combined with herbs. The organ meats were formed into little roulade pieces, served with potatoes. I would describe them as having a taste of lamb crossed with beef liver, very rich, powerful and hearty meat. The roulades were tender. They're served with roasted potatoes and I would say that's a good move: just as pungent proteins (like whale!) are served with potatoes in the Faroe Islands, it helps balance the dish.
Though the flavors might have been a little strong for me back when I was a kid, I find myself craving it now, as I'm typing about it!
