Sia Furler has already had quite a year topping the charts with her hit song “Chandelier.” Now the Australian pop star has scored a hit in her love life. According to a confirmed report by Us Weekly on Sunday, the “Titanium” singer married filmmaker Eric Anders Lang at her Palm Springs, California home on Saturday (Aug. 2).
The songwriter/producer has been a private performer as of late, but the happy bride couldn’t help but tweet her excitement to fans and followers. She tweeted, “Omg omg I’m so excited.” Sia, who is openly bisexual, got engaged in June and shared her engagement by flashing her diamond ring at the Wayuu Taya gala in NYC.
The Desert Sun first leaked the news on Friday. A source who works in the contemporary pop music scene told the Sun that the couple were getting marring in Palm Springs. It was reported that the songwriter had party trucks parked in front of her home Saturday afternoon. The source also said that the vendors for the wedding had to sign nondisclosure agreements to get contracts of their jobs. That is just how private Sia is, but the excitement was so overwhelming for the songwriter that she couldn’t help but spread the news herself after it happened.
Sia was previously keeping her relationship very quiet, so the marriage did come as a very present surprise. Sia is also known as being the voice behind the Flo Rida’s “Wild Ones.” She has also written and produced hits by Katy Perry, Beyonce, Britney Spears and Rihanna. Her latest album, “1000 Forms of Fear,” debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 200 chart in the first week of July. It sold 52,000 copies in that first week. Other details about the surprise nuptials have not yet been released.
