Australian Open 2014 tennis schedule dates, draw bracket odds & TV coverage ESPN

According to a Jan. 8 ESPN report, tennis schedule, dates, TV coverage and draw bracket odds for the first Grand Slam of the season, the Australian Open 2014, are now available.

The world-class tennis action gets underway from Melbourne Park in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, on Monday, Jan. 13 and concludes with the men’s (singles) final on the 26th – United States’ Australian Open 2014 schedule dates: Jan. 12-25.

ESPN’s family of networks will handle broadcasting TV (coverage) duties for this highly anticipated event in conjunction with Tennis Channel.

DirecTV customers rejoice, because for the first eight days of the tournament, the satellite provider will offer its customers the yearly “Australian Open Experience” (Channels 701-707).

This complementary DirecTV feature includes the Australian Open Mix channel (701), which allows tennis fans to watch up to six simultaneous matches all in one channel, as well as: Match Guide, Recent Results and up-to-the-minute information on the Men’s & Women’s Draws.

It should come as no surprise that world’s top-ranked players, Serena Williams and Rafael Nadal lead the way in their respective Aussie Open 2014 draw-seedings.

Rounding out the ladies’ top-5 is defending champion (2) Victoria Azarenka, (3) Maria Sharapova, (4) Li Na, and (5) Agnieszka Radwanska. Meanwhile, on the men’s draw, Rafa will try and end (2) Novak Djokovic’s three-year reign Down Under, and so will (3) David Ferrer, (4) Andy Murray, (5) Juan Martin del Potro and (6) Roger Federer.

The Aussie Open 2014 schedule of opening-round matches will follow soon thereafter, at which time full TV coverage on ESPN and DirecTV will be made available.
