Despite the fact that Federer comes in with a 9-4 (1 walkover) advantage over Tsonga, it always makes for an interesting showdown when these old rivals meet.

Their last head-to-head match dates back to the 2013 French Open at Roland Garros, when Jo-Wilfried Tsonga stunned the 17-time Grand Slam champion in straight sets: 7-5, 6-3, 6-3.

It’s also worth noting that 11 of their 15 meetings have taken place on a hardcourt surface. The former world No.1 has won 8 of those matches, lost twice and a 2012 walkover in Qatar.

Tennis betting oddsmakers in Las Vegas give Roger Federer [-165] a slight nod over Jo-Wilfried Tsonga [+145] in Monday morning’s match. The OVER/UNDER is set at a combined total of 42 games and alternate spreads have the Swiss at -2½ [-109] and the Frenchman as a +2½ [-107] underdog.
