For more than five years, the Austin Jazz Alliance has served as an organization that helps jazz musicians in Austin and Central Texas promote their music. Since its creation in 2009, it has become dedicated to celebrating jazz music and bringing together jazz musicians, jazz fans, and jazz related businesses.

One April 14th, the city council of Austin honored the Austin Jazz Alliance for their support of jazz music and proclaim April as Jazz Appreciation month in Austin. To further recognize the achievements of the Jazz community in the city, on April 30, The Austin Jazz Alliance will host the 2014 Jazz Appreciation Awards and Jam event at the Brass House (115 San Jacinto Boulevard, Austin, Texas, 78701) at 7PM.
