The word is now out that Austin and Dallas have each had a television show canceled. Fox has canceled Lonestar and ABC has canceled My Generation. However, this fall Texas still continues to offer paid work for talent and crew in television and movies. The Robert Rodriquez movie, Spy Kids 4, is casting in Austin. NBC and Fox have television series in production in Dallas this fall. NBC is producing Chase. Fox is also in production for The Good Guys in the Dallas area. These movie and television series are still providing jobs for cast and crew.
On Location Casting continues to cast for scenes in The Good Guys. OLC looks for all ages and types of talent, who do not necessarily need previous experience. (OLC is not casting principal talent.) Those who are already registered with OLC, are automatically considered for this project! All those who are registered need to do is to make sure that their OLC profile and contact information is up-to-date. They should also keep special skills and other information current. In order to be considered for extra work, talent needs to go to the OLC Web site to complete a free talent application. (The optional upgrade offered on OLC to an “Active Talent Account” is not required in order to work on any OLC project. Talent is automatically active in the OLC talent database, when an account is approved. ) Texas residents are preferred for this project. There is no pay for travel or accommodations. Talent must have valid proof of Texas residency (Drivers License, Voter Registration Card, or Full-time College ID Card).
In North Texas, the contact for extra casting work for Chase is Cache Casting. Again talent can follow and respond to casting notices on Facebook.
Robert Rodriquez has rebooted Spy Kids because his most loyal fans are kids. Austin's Beth Speko is casting for Spy Kids 4. Those interested in registering with Beth Sepko's Third Coast Extras can find the registration form and instructions on http://www.bethsepkocasting.com/.
