Austin City Limits announces 2014 festival line-up

One of the biggest music festivals in the United States has just posted their list of performers for their 2014 show, and it has left their website scrambling to keep up with the demand of potential festival goers. This morning, Austin City Limits (ACL) made their line-up for this year's ACL Festival official, posting it online at the official ACL Festival website.

What does the festival line-up look like? According to this article from the Austin Business Journal, the 2014 ACL Festival has fully embraced the electronic dance genre, featuring artists such as Skrillex and the Glitch Mob. Headliners include rapper Eminem, rock band Pearl Jam, and hip hop duo Outkast, who recently reunited and performed at Coachella in Chicago.

A lot of the festival's picks are understandably mainstream. Artists like Lana Del Rey and AFI will push ticket sales based on their names alone. Other artists, like The Gaslight Anthem and Fitz & The Tantrums, have strong enough fan bases to push them to the top. It will be a possible breakout weekend for other artists who usually would not entertain such a large and diverse crowd.

The ACL Festival will take place during the first two weekends of October at Austin's own Zilker Metropolitan Park. Tickets for the event have been on sale since this morning, and several of the pass types are already sold out. Music fans should expect to shell out big bucks for three day passes to see their favorite groups on either weekend of the festival.

Buying passes may be tricky for those using the Austin City Limits website. According to Twitter, many users are reporting problems finishing their purchases, and the site is being choked by absurd amounts of traffic. Unfortunately, waiting for the website to calm down may mean missing out on buying three day passes before they sell out.

Single day tickets for the 2014 ACL Festival are expected to go on sale soon. The Austin City Limits website has not yet announced a date for their sale yet.
