Gritness, a fitness company based in Austin, today announced the launch of its mobile app to make it even easier for fitness fans to connect with local activities and events.

“Our new mobile app will enable current and new users to discover fitness activities wherever and whenever they want,” said co-founder Jason Whitson. “The Gritness app caters to all-around athletes as well as anyone looking to take part in an active lifestyle. Users can find everything from group runs to yoga and boot camps.”

Gritness, which was launched by avid cyclists Jason Whitson and Tommy Fad, ignites group fitness by creating a digital resource that allows members of the fitness community to discover, organize and create fitness events. Gritness hosts thousands of group and event listings to promote fit lifestyles.

The app is available on both iPhone and Android operating systems. In addition to launching the app, Gritness is planning to roll out a new website design to better support it's users.

Austin users are invited to explore the new look and app at its annual event, the Gritness 100 Challenge, on February 23. The challenge, which benefits the YMCA East Communities Branch, challenges all levels of athletes to a number of fitness activities like push-ups, burpees and box jumps.
