James Holmes stunned many in his recent court appearance, and on March 20 those following the case got a better understanding of what is happening. The Aurora shooter is Islam now, according to the Daily Mail. Apparently Holmes has turned to Islam in prison and he prays five times a day as he follows a Muslim routine.
Holmes is accused of killed 12 and injuring 58 during the Aurora, Colo. movie theater shooting in July 2012. The Aurora shooter's Islam shift allegedly is part of his attempt to justify the “Dark Knight” massacre. James Holmes is charged with 166 counts including many murder and attempted murder charges. The judge entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf this month.
Little has been shared by Holmes' lawyers regarding their plan for the trial. Many wonder how far those involved have gotten with any mental health evaluations. Many think it seems clear that there are psychiatric issues at play in this tragic case. Will the Aurora shooter's Islam transition change the course of his future?
