The term “Aurora shooter Islam” began to trend across U.S. search engines this week after the Inquistr reported this Thursday, March 21, that James Holmes — a same man accused of killing 12 people at a midnight showing of “The Dark Knight Rises” in July 2012 — has allegedly converted to the Islamic religion.
According to the report’s headline, “Aurora shooter Islam: James Holmes converts to Islam”, James Holmes has displayed “erratic behavior” following his arrest last year. After the tragic Colorado shooting at a “The Dark Knight Rises” premiere that left almost 60 people injured and 12 others dead, Holmes has begun to "study" the Islamic faith.
The source from the Inquisitr reveals that he has begun to study the Qur’an, is praying five times a day, now follows a Muslim diet, and recently even appeared in court sporting a beard this Feb. to symbolize his support of Islam. The insider adds that James may have converted to the faith in an attempt to make peace, or in some way justify, the devastating shootings.
“He has brainwashed himself into believing he was on his own personal jihad and that his victims were infidels,” an insider allegedly noted to The National Enquirer, added the Washington Times.
Holmes’ inmates in prison, some of whom are Muslim, are reportedly not pleased with his conversion to Islam or the fanfare surrounding Aurora shooter Islam headline, as they do not want their faith associated with the man or tragic killings.
“None of them condone forms of terrorism or extremism,” concluded the source. “And they don’t want their religion to be connected to that awful shooting.”
