Aurora music school hosts recital

On Saturday, December 5, 2009, Apollo School of Music, Inc., located at 3691 Darlene Ct., Aurora, IL. 60504 hosted their Annual Winter Guitar/Piano/Vocal Recital.

The participating students spanned in age from 6 years to adult. Their musical training with Apollo School of Music, Inc., ranges 6 months to 1-1/2 years.

Guitar students - Tim Wagenknecht performed "Leyenda" by Albeniz. Matt Wagenknecht performed "Leyenda" by Albeniz. Hannah Darcy performed "Joy to the World" by Watts with brother Evan Darcy accompanied on Piano. Varun Raja performed "Wonder Wall" by Oasis and "Happy Christmas" by Lennon. Guitar instructor is Dave Byron.

Piano students - Emily Lapinski performed "The River Flows in You" by Yiruma and "Waltz in a Minor" by Chopin. Evan Darcy performed "Joy to the World" by Watts with sister Hannah Darcy accompanied on guitar. Siddesh Ayakkad performed "Yankee Doodle" and "Alouette". Kaley Kicmal performed "The Spanish Guitar" and "Jack and the Beanstalk". Andy O'Connell performed "Happy Song" and "Wishing Well". Savannah Hamman performed "Questions" and "Toy Soldiers". Piano instructor is Mallory Harding. Piano instructor for Evan Darcy is Dave Holloway.

Vocal students - Kaley Kicmal sang "Dancing through Life" by Wicked and "Christmas Time Is Here" by Guaraldi. Julia O'Connell sang "Rockin' around the Christmas Tree" by Marks. Katie Vesely sang "Let It Snow". A duet by Katie Vesely and Julia O'Connell sang "For Good" by Wicked. Varun Raja sang "Happy Christmas" by Lennon while also performing this song on the guitar. Matt Lenerville sang "Go Tell It on the Mountain" traditional version. Vocal instructor for these students is Lisa Starr.

Congratulations to all the students who participated. They all did a wonderful job!
