Need a reminder of Aurora, Colorado's dog licensing requirements? There are several licenses, fees, and restrictions that need to be adhered to before bringing that perfect dog into your home.
- Licensed dogs are required for any pups over six months of age. Dogs must receive all of their required shots.
- Failure to comply with this rule will cost the owner a $50.00 fine for the first offense. Second offense is $75.00. Third offense is $100.00 fine a possibility of 180 days in jail. - Dogs need to be spayed or neutered after six months of age. There are special medical conditions that can be met, check with your veterinarian.
- It is illegal to own pit balls within the City limits. - Dogs are not allowed to bark, yelp or disrupt neighbors or passerbys.
