Launched in June of this year along with the Augusto Reyes Signature blend, the Augusto Reyes 6th Generation blend was made as a gift to Augusto Reyes Jr’s Father.

This 6th Generation’s wrapper was reddish brown and finely veined. The cigar felt smooth to the touch and had just the right amount of give up and down the body.

There was a faint aroma of ammonia on the foot, while the wrapper had a leathery, tobacco aroma. I clipped the cap and I detected a slightly bitter taste during the pre-light draw.

Once lit, the cigar gave off a good amount of smoke. For the first third, the smoke was cool and smooth during the inhale. There was a very pronounced peppery sensation on the exhale.

Halfway into the second third of the cigar, I picked up on some cedar, tobacco and more pepper. The spice sensation on the exhale became more pronounced as the cigar burned.

At the final third, I needed to touch up the burn a bit. The cigar had burned well up until this point. The flavors were basically the same for this last third.

Overall the Augusto Reyes 6th Generation is a solid cigar. I consider it a medium bodied, medium strength cigar with a decent flavor profile. I feel this cigar is worth a try if you see it in your local tobacconist’s shop.
