It’s almost back to school time. Before it starts, kids can still have some fun and meet new friends in a summer sewing camp. They will also gain confidence from accomplishing something on their own and sewing is a valuable skill they will always have. Here are a few summer sewing camps offered at City Craft, Urban Spools and Dallas Designing Dreams:
City Craft is offering various summer camps starting August 5. The ‘Quilting Summer Camp’ will teach students how to make a 40" x 56" Four-Patch quilt. They will learn accurate cutting and piecing, pressing, machine quilting and machine binding.
‘Fashion Summer Camp’ starts August 12. Students will learn how to use a sewing machine along with other techniques as they complete fashion-oriented projects.
They will also offer ‘Back to School’ and ‘Land of Make Believe’ summer camps. Visit their website for more info and to register. City Craft is located at 5460 W. Lovers Lane, Suite 234, Dallas, TX 75209.
Urban Spools' summer camp will teach students how to use a sewing machine, how to thread the machine, and wind the bobbin. They will also make a tote bag, a journal cover, a patchwork pillow and a fabric box to store their treasures. Visit their website for more info and to register. You may also contact them at 214-324-5755. Urban Spools is located at 1152 N. Buckner Blvd, Suite 121, Dallas, TX 75218.
