August Burns Red has released a new album with a tour to match. This is a metal band from Pennsylvania that has been at the forefront of the metalcore genre since entering it back in 2003 when they formed while still in high school. Now with 6 album releases under their belts, they are apparently in full control of their epic creation. Their new release "Rescue and Restore" continues to evolve their sound dramatically. A band always fond of technical guitar-work, oddly timed breakdowns and relentless and machine like drumming continues to push themselves into seemingly more progressive territory in the new release. There's an epic lead for almost every riff, and a highly complicated riff attached to every lead, with blistering, tightly organized rhythm section paving the way.
People attending the Orlando visit of ABR's new material (as well as the older crowd frenzied selections) are in for a treat, because the show is being held at the newly renovated Plaza Live Orlando. The Plaza Live, since the renovation has been having a very steady rotation of shows. This is a band which has surpassed the shelf life of most bands within the genre, not just scrapping albums and band members together but really focusing on getting better and better each time. The mastery behind all instrumentation in this band is truly unparalleled; it is clear from their official holiday album and Britney Spears cover that they also exist with a little humility as well. If you have never been to an August Burns Red show, you can be sure the band and the crowd will have enough energy to test the foundation of the building.
