Wholesales, retailers/buyers and designers, from across the world, filled the streets of downtown Atlanta, Georgia to participate in the AmericasMart August Apparel Market. The parking lots and garages were busting at the seams, with some spaces going for as much as $20 a pop.
Each attendee’s goal was to find the newest, hottest trends and the AmericasMart August Apparel Market had plenty to choose from.

Located in Building 3 of AmericasMart, the theme for the AmericasMart August Apparel Market was “The World of Prom”, which created a fairytale world of diamonds, rhinestone, sequins, glitter, tulle and chiffon, among other fabrics. Live mannequins (models) at store front and inside stores offered statuesque beauty abound.
To enter the venue may have been overwhelming for most. However, MyMeApparel Atlanta Fashion Examiner had the privilege of receiving a person welcome tour with both the Executive Director of Marketing of AmericasMart and the Media Relations Manager.
Fifteen floors of everything you could possibly imagine was displayed in booth and in-store fashion shows. The AmericasMart also offered featured fashion shows on the main stage: “Style Runway”, which spotlighted the emerging designers, and World of Prom “Glamour Reigns”, which showcased a range of daywear to garments fit for a queen.
Spotted, at the AmericasMart “Glamour Reigns: Fashion Show, were some of the world’s discreet socialite elite and Atlanta’s celebrity and fashion industry icons, such as Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Atlanta” reality TV star and owner of Purple Door Salon & Spa, Dwight Eubanks, and owner of Caliber Model Agency, Marcus Jackson.
AmericasMart also included a special exhibitor’s section for emerging designers. Look for upcoming brands like Schalero, Body Décor Boutique, Tuli, brio design, tRuth, Rwiti, My Amy Lou, Lindsay Jean – Marie and enewton design. The emerging designers presented an array of custom handmade jewelry, scarves, women apparel and hats.
“The emerging designers temp exhibits section was started about a year ago. We have had some great success with the program, which offers new designers a chance to get their brands out there.” ~ Lou Ann Thomas, Executive Director of Marketing, AmericasMart Atlanta.
The Apparel Markets are provided to present seasonal trends.
Temporary exhibits, also known as “temps” are set up specifically for the each apparel market offering a glimpse of brands and manufacturers.
Permanent exhibitors are available year round over a complete shopper’s experience ranging from vegan to luxury fashion pieces.
Buyer meetings are held on site, in impromptu seating and buyers come with checkbook/credit card in hand, ready to place orders to get product to retail for the upcoming season.
