August 24 Check Your Genes 5K Benefits Breast and Ovarian Cancer

Sunday August 24 at 9am is the Check Your Genes – Know Your DNA 5K Run and Walk in Crestview Hills, KY. This event is part of a fundraising group for advanced awareness of the genetic and DNA risk of ovarian and breast cancer, so it’s a good thing for all women to know their history.

At the race awards will be given to first overall male and female runners and walkers as well as all age group winners. The award ceremony and refreshments will take place immediately following the race. The race will be chip timed this year, and the race coordinators ask that all participants are sure to properly attach shoe tags for electronic timing and recording and be sure to return them after the race.

Register online at www.checkyourgenes.org through August 21, $22 for adults age 12 and over, and $12 for kids age under 12. Quality Tech Shirts can be purchased by adult runners for an additional $10, and kids may get a race t-shirt for $5. Packet pickup along with late registration will begin on Saturday August 23 at Tri-State Running in Edgewood, KY, from 12-4pm, costing $27 for adults and $17 for kids. Race day registration will begin at 7:30am on Sunday, also costing $27 for adult runners and $17 for kids. Race location is 333 Thomas More Parkway, Crestview Hills, KY 41017.

For those of you not able to make it on Sunday morning, but would like to support early detection of breast and ovarian cancer, donations can be made along with race registration at www.checkyourgenes.org since the race is benefitting this cause.
