On August 23, Albuquerque’s own Launchpad gets down with Full Metal Jackin’, starring Deforme, Torture Victim, Laughing Dog, and Feud of Temptation. Doors for this 21+ show open at 8 p.m., with the show scheduled from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Entry is $5 but is subject to change at the door.
Albuquerque’s Deforme play straight-up death metal with a dash of black metal. Expect old-school foundations with modern flair.
Hailing from Albuquerque, Torture Victim describe themselves as follows: “An in-your-face extreme-metal assault.” The band’s new full-length studio CD is titled Of Darkness and Power.
Formed in the mid-1990s, Albuquerque’s Laughing Dog play a combination of grindcore and straight-on punk that they like to call “old town grind.” The band’s motto says it all: “Let the music speak.”
Albuquerque’s Feud of Temptation play metal. The band is working on the final mixing and mastering of its debut self-titled EP and is also recording songs for its full-length CD, which is scheduled for release later this year.
Around since 1997, Albuquerque’s Launchpad has played host to bands of numerous genres, including punk, indie rock, and metal. The Launchpad is located on 618 Central Avenue Southwest, which is between 6th and 7th streets.
