The Weekend Theater, 7th & Chester in downtown Little Rock, has set auditions for our four late summer and fall shows for the 2013-2014 season. The auditions will be at 9 A.M. on Saturday, June 15th and 6 P.M. Sunday, June 16th for the following shows:
The River Niger, directed by Margaret Parker and Akasha Hull; 100 Saints You Should Know, directed by Alan Douglas; Nora, directed by Matt Patton; and A Clockwork Orange, directed by Ralph Hyman. Auditions will consist of reading from the script; you do not have to prepare anything prior to the audition. Scripts will not be available prior to auditions.
The River Niger, written by Joseph A. Walker, will rehearse July 13th through August 8th with performances August 9-24. Nine men and four women, all African-American, ranging from young to mature adults, will be needed.
100 Saints You Should Know, written by Kate Fodor, rehearses August 10th through September 5th with performances September 6-21. Two adult males and three adult females will be needed.
Nora, written by Ingmar Bergman, adapted from Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House,
rehearses September 7th through October 3rd with performances October 4-19. Three adult males and two adult females will be needed.
A Clockwork Orange,, written by Anthony Burgess, rehearses October 5th through 31st, with performances November 1-16. About ten adult males, five adult females, two adolescent females and nine adolescent males will be needed.
Rehearsals usually take place somewhere between the hours of 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. Saturdays.
