Diversionary Theatre wants to know if you want to audition for the World Premier Comedy of Horrors “She-Rantulas From Outer Space”! If you love Halloween and B-movies then this may be a show that you want to perform.
Auditions will be held the evening of Monday, April 1st with callbacks being scheduled at a later date. When a horror-horde of monster-mutants invades Small Town U.S.A., one All-American Mother must face the truth about her little Suzie and destroy her evil Web of Terror. Conceived and written by Ruff Yeager and Phil Johnson and directed by Ruff Yeager this film has it all. There will be carnage! There will be destruction! There will be men in women’s clothing!
SUZIE - Almost eight years old. Experiencing odd growth spurts (of things like extra arms—eight of them to be exact). A She-Rantula.
*HARRY - Late twenties. Handyman in the building that Fred and Flora own. Rough, plain spoken. Ruggedly handsome.
*HARRIET - Late twenties. A bombshell of the Jayne Mansfield variety. Looks great in a twin set.
BETTY - A single lady in her early thirties who is running from a past she doesn’t remember. Mother to Suzie. This role has already been cast.
+FLORA FAIRCHILD - Mid-forties. Landlady of the apartment building wherein BETTY resides. Wife to FRED.
+GLADYS GOFORTH - Mid-thirties. Avon Lady and ersatz Bible study-group leader.
+DAISY MCDOUGAL—Early fifties. Has drowned her sorrows with booze. She has lost both her husband and her lover.
+MARIA—Early thirities. Betty’s maid/housekeeper. She is of Mexican descent.
+ROBERTA RICKENBOCKER—Mid fifties. Suzie’s second grade school teacher. Fond of baked goods.
+LOUELLA LOVEJOY - Early Sixties. Lives across the street from the building in which Betty resides. President of the Lutheran Ladies’ League.
#FRED FAIRCHILD - Late forties. Husband to FLORA. President of the men’s club, The Tarrytown Tarantula. Professor of etymology at the Tarrytown Polytechnic. This role has already been cast.
#FREIDA - A gal who’s handy with her hands. Runs a yard-care business. This role has already been cast.
