Audition opportunities for Los Angeles musicians this March

Shen Yun Performing Arts, which includes four dance companies and four symphony orchestras, is a classical Chinese dance and music company that presents a brand new production of live stage performance every year at top venues in more than 100 cities around the world.

Due to its ever expanding scale, the Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra is recruiting professional music performers at auditions that coincide with its upcoming local shows -Segerstrom Center for the Arts (Costa Mesa, CA) from March 11-16 , Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Center (Thousand Oaks, CA) from March 18-20, Nokia Theatre L.A. Live (Los Angeles, CA) from Mar 22-23, and The Granada Theatre (Santa Barbara, CA) from March 29-30.

The full-time positions available are:

Strings: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Harp
Woodwinds: Oboe, Flute, Bassoon
Brass: French horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Bass Trombone
Chinese instruments: Pipa, Erhu, Suona

These positions will be offered to experienced musicians, including soon-to-graduate artists. The Shen Yum company’s philosophy is based on the spiritual discipline of Falun Dafa. Applicants must be willing to learn Falun Dafa meditation and follow its principles. No previous experience with meditation is required. It is suggested that those interested familiarize themselves with the practice by visiting and by reading the books Falun Gong and Zhuan Falun that are posted there and can be downloaded for free.
