Auction to benefit Disabilities Recreation Project at the Expo

Saturday night is an opportunity to have a great dinner, associate with some wonderful people and benefit the senior and disabled population of the Rogue Valley with the help of the Disabilities Recreation Project.

The food will be outstanding and the many auction items will provide some great bargains while the dollars raised will help provide funding for the project.

A non-profit organization was formed in May 2002 to improve access to Southern Oregon parks and recreational areas by providing wheelchair accessible tables in picnic areas and access for fishing.  Working closely with Jackson County Parks and Recreation and the Expo Fairgrounds, this group has managed to achieve some impressive results without the use of any government funding.  Local corporate sponsors and individuals have provided not only money, but a lot of quality volunteer labor.

.Successful projects at Howard Prairie, Crater High School and Emigrant Lake have already set the standard for the Disabilities Recreation Project.

The beautiful Rogue Valley is rich with Nature’s bounty of lakes, rivers and mountains where we all can enjoy the outdoors.  For people with disabilities it becomes a challenge to get there, but through the efforts of organizations like Disabilities Recreation Project it becomes an achievable goal.

You can be a part of this visionary program and have a good time Saturday February 4th beginning at 5:30 at the Expo Fairgrounds Mace building.  It is possible to RSVP on line and pay at the door.

The Table Rock Kiwanis is supporting this event with the contribution of an auction basket.  The Kiwanis will be joined by a large number of local corporate sponsors and individual donors.  This is an evening you don’t want to miss.
