According to the Canadian Olympic Committee on Monday, Canadian Olympic Committee president Marcel Aubut will be promoting the Canadian ability to host major international sporting events at the 2014 SportAccord Convention that is taking place from April 6-14 at the Susesi Convention Centre in Belek, Turkey.

Aubut will have an opportunity to deliver his message when he will be hosting a Team Canada reception on Wednesday for International Olympic Committee members, National Olympic Committee representatives and International Federation delegates.

The year of 2015 is a major one on the Canadian sports scene because Toronto is hosting the Pan Am Games, Toronto and Montreal are co-hosting the 2015 World Junior Hockey Championships, Halifax is hosting the 2015 World Men's Curling Championship, and Edmonton, Winnipeg, Montreal, Vancouver, Ottawa and Moncton are hosting the 2015 Women's World Cup of Soccer.

Last week it was announced that Edmonton will be bidding to host the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
