Aubrey Cleland surprised Nicki Minaj and the panel of judges with a unique performance on "American Idol" Wednesday.
Performing a rendition of "Sweet Dreams" by Beyonce, Cleland won each judge with strong vocal range and a look that some of them deemed commercial.
"I am obsessed with you. For the first time somebody came out here looking like a current artist. You're absolutely stunning. Normally I hate when people do Beyonce because you can't compare, but when you did your low voice I liked it. The fact that you had that rich texture when you sang, I was blown away," said Minaj. "You look the part. You sound the part. You felt right now."
Equally impressed, Keith Urban said Aubrey Cleland had a lot of fire in her voice.
"You came out and did your own thing. What I love about you is the balance of poise and fire. You've got so much fire in your voice. I really loved it," said Urban.
Noting that she had great stage presence, Randy Jackson said Cleland has the complete package.
"You're a very great commercial artist. You look amazing. You command the stage. I feel like you have the complete package," said Jackson.
Mariah Carey agreed.
"I think you're limitless and I hope you continue with us because like I said, I think you're limitless," said Carey.
