Attleboro school lockdown: Wamsutta Middle School in Attleboro, Mass. was placed on immediate lockdown when an alleged gunman was seen by students Tuesday afternoon. Web Pro News reports Oct. 8 that police are still searching for the armed man.
The Attleboro Police Department tweeted an announcement Tuesday afternoon that a mandatory lockdown was issued at Wamsutta Middle School. They described the suspect as a black male wearing baggy pants and a white shirt. A number of students claimed they saw the man before he ran into a field behind the school and proceeded into a wooded area.
No shots were fired in the event.
Students were sent home with family members after the Attleboro school lockdown went into effect.
