Attention snowbirds Frontier launches new Non Stop Service to Phoenix-Mesa

Denver hub airline Frontier has announced new daily nonstop service between Denver and Phoenix-Mesa, Arizona beginning on November 15th, 2012. The service will operate on an Airbus 319 seating 138 passengers and featuring 30 channels of DirecTV service and 5 rows of STRETCH seating.

For those who may be more familiar with Phoenix-Sky Harbor which is the principal airport for the region and which Frontier presently services and will continue to do so. Phoenix-Mesa Airport 30 miles southeast of Phoenix was developed on the site of the former Williams Air Force Base primarily serving suburban Mesa and the East Valley area. Frontier Airlines joins Allegiant and Spirit offering service into and out of Phoenix-Mesa.

Mesa is the third largest city in Arizona behind Phoenix and Tucson. While not as well known as its larger peers, Mesa does offer:

The training camp for the Chicago Cubs at HoHoKam Stadium

The Commemorative Air Force Museum

Access to the Superstition Mountains, Usery Mountain Regional Park, Apache Trail, and the Salt and Verde Rivers.

And like Denver, 300+ days of sunshine per year.
