I spend so much time thinking about relationships that I almost forget what it's like to be single and out there in the dating world. One of my close friends recently ended a 7 year relationship. Yes, I said 7 years! She really isn't ready for anything serious, but I began to ponder how you even get back into dating after you have been with the same person for over 7 years.
I'm certainly not going to give her any pointers because she's trying to get back to herself again, but I found this topic really interesting. So, of course, I did a little bit of research to see that was out there. We all know that Internet dating has become more mainstream over the past few years, but I don't know if I would personally be up for that. I have nothing against it, but you often have no idea whom you are meeting over the Internet. It would be nerve wrecking for me.
I found this site dedicated to events for singles in the Atlanta area: www.singlesonthego.com/atlanta. It features everything from local speed dating services, dining groups, wine tasting clubs, to single social networking. What a great resource for those of you out there looking for great people in Atlanta, or simply looking to have a good time!
I wanted to pass it on so that someone out there might have some luck. Are you a single Atlantan? Have you ever participated in a successful singles event?
