The fourth annual Northwest Tea Festival will be held this coming weekend, October 1st and 2nd in the Fisher Pavilion at Seattle Center. This year promises to be especially rewarding to visitors, with a large and varied selection of educators, presenters and vendors. Aside from browsing the wares on sale by the many vendors, attendees also have plenty of chances to hear well-delivered and illuminating presentations and experience sit-down guided tea tastings.
Admission to the festival is free, but a suggested donation of $10.00 will garner visitors a porcelain tasting cup. This clearly identified tasting cup will get attendees into the tasting booths and allow for sampling from among the many vendor booths offering brewed tea samples. This is a particularly responsible and efficient policy, generating considerably less waste by eliminating disposable sample cups. All of the classes, events and presentations are free, although there are a small number of opportunities which have materials fees attached to them.
Visit the Northwest Tea Festival website for additional details on the event and to view the schedule of what is happening when. If you have even a passing interest in tea and tea culture, you won't want to miss it!
