LGBT Equality March, c/o Kathie Bergquist
I was not only enough to attend the 1963 March on Washington, but I am old enough to attend the National Equality March on October 10-11, 2009. This is a chance for LGBT Americans to gather in Washington D.C. and let our voices be heard. It is the kick-off for the Equality Across America campaign for full equal rights for LGBT people.
From the Equality Across America website:
“We will continue this fight in every state, in every county, every city and every town, but we are now determined to take this fight to the federal government, to our President Barack Obama, to the Congress and the Supreme Court of the United States.”
Cleve Jones, May 31, 2009, Fresno, California
Visit the site and sign up to attend. Visit the Chicago Contingent LGBT Equality March Facebook page, too.

Great article. Wonderful that you can be at these events.
Don't waste your time or money - it's a non-event. Ask Cleve Jones to provide an accounting for the $150,000 he has raised.
Hi Marcus,
Hmmmm...interesting. I never thought of that. I'll have to consider this some more. Thanks for stopping by.
I agree with Marcus. We should avoid this mess Cleve made. Our efforts should be kept local and one-on-one. That works.
I think a big March is appropriate when we "win" something.
Nobody from around here is going and it's not far. We are focusing on our local area. I don't think anyone cares if there is a "National" March because there isn't a reason for one.
Jolie--you should spin these comments into an article. Great opportunity here. (Also: Holy cow! You don't look your age.)
