The Literacy Assistance Center (LAC) Academy is presenting a free information session on teaching English for speakers of other languages (TESOL) on Feb. 4. This information-gathering opportunity targets adult educators, program managers, volunteer literacy tutors, and others, and covers a variety of TESOL-related issues that will benefit beginner and experienced professionals alike.
Judy Trupin, a LAC Academy lead TESOL instructor and expert, facilitates the two-hour information session. Among the topics slated for discussion by Instructor Trupin are:
- Understanding the need for trained ESOL instructors
- Becoming an effective ESOL instructor
- Distinguishing the needs of adult ESOL students from those of K-12 students
Interested individuals should register online for the TESOL information session that takes place at LAC, 39 Broadway, Suite 1250, in Lower Manhattan.
LAC is a “nonprofit professional development and technical assistance organization dedicated to improving the quality of adult literacy services.”
