Attend Chicago's own glam Oscar red carpet, telecast and party

So you weren't invited to the Vanity Fair or Madonna after Oscars party but you still have time to get glam and attend Hollywood on State: A Red Carpet Celebration at the Gene Siskel Film Center of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago at 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2014. It includes a fabulous dinner buffet and drink and the awards telecast begining at 7:30pm, with desserts from Magnolia Bakery and Eli’s Cheesecake and coffee from Bow Truss Coffee Roasters served at 9 pm.

Hollywood on State is Chicago’s longest-running awards viewing party including a sensational red carpet hosted by Amanda Puck and Rich Varnes, delectable food donated by Pure Kitchen Catering, wines from The Naked Grape and Barefoot Bubbly, beer from Lakeshore Beverage and Stella Artois, cocktails from Baileys and a live high-definition telecast of the 86th Annual Academy Awards® show presented in the Film Center's two state-of-the-art movie theaters.

Bid on a number of silent auction packages featuring Hollywood memorabilia such as Robert Downey Jr.’s autographed helmet from Iron Man, exclusive travel and hotel stays including a 2-night stay at the Virgin Hotel Chicago (opening Fall 2014), and a dinners at some of Chicago’s hottest eateries. Partygoers will also compete for great prizes in the “Hollywood Notables” contest, vying for awards based on the 2014 Oscar Best Picture nominees. With categories like “Best 70’s Glam (American Hustle),” “Best Use of Black & White (Nebraska)” and “Best McConaughey (Dallas Buyer’s Club),” guests are encouraged to break out their best movie-themed ensemble to walk the Hollywood on State red carpet.

For the first time, local Chicago filmmakers will be recognized at the event. Honorees include Maria Finitzo, Stephen Cone, Ky Dickens, and Pamela Sherrod Anderson.

Tickets to Hollywood on State: A Red Carpet Celebration are $100/general admission and $200/VIP. $100 includes general admission, buffet and bar and a parting gift. $200 includes reserved theater seating and exclusive surprise parting gifts. Tickets must be purchased in advance—there will be no sales at the door the day of the event. Valet parking is available for $15 or guests may park their cars at the InterPark Self-Park—which offers discounted parking for $16 for ten hours—at 20 E. Randolph St.
