WINNIPEG — The Attacca Quartet will be at the University of Winnipeg for a special concert on February 25, 2012 (8 p.m.) in Eckhart-Gramatté Hall. This event is part of Virtuosi Concerts, an annual International Recital and Chamber Music Concert Series held annually in Winnipeg.
Formed at The Juilliard School in 2003, the Attacca Quartet comprises of violinists Amy Schroeder and Keiko Tokunaga, violist Luke Fleming, and cellist Andrew Yee. The ensemble made its professional debut in 2007, as part of the Artists International Winners Series in Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall. Two years later, they gave the Alice Tully Hall premiere of John Adams’ "String Quartet."
In 2010, the Attacca Quartet began its five-year project ("The 68") of performing all 68 string quartets of Haydn in New York City.
