An “atomic wedgie” murder? An Oklahoma man may be the first person ever to be charged with the wacky execution. Brad Davis, 33, is accused of killing his stepfather, Denver Lee St. Clair, 58, on Dec. 21. Death by underwear, reports Reuters via Yahoo! News on Wednesday, and that's no "stretch."
After the pair got into a kerfuffle, Davis admitted to suffocating St. Clair with his own underwear and striking him in the head. The drunken family fight started at a residence on Shadowlake Drive in Pottawatomie County near McLoud, just east of Oklahoma City.
Four days before Christmas, Davis yanked St. Clair’s undershorts up and over his head, then used the band to strangle him.
The Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office said they arrested Davis on Tuesday. A police affidavit stated Davis “grabbed St. Clair's underwear and gave him an 'atomic wedgie.' Davis allegedly pulled the elastic waistband of St. Clair's underwear over his head and around his neck.”
Davis, a former Marine, told detectives that the fight started with his stepfather badmouthing his mother. It ended with the mother of all wedgies.
“We continued our investigation and uncovered evidence that led us to believe that this was more than just a fight,” said Pottawatomie County Sheriff Mike Booth. "I'd never seen this before, but when we first looked at our victim, the waistband of his underwear was around his neck."
According to Time Newsfeed, for those who don’t know (and were never in a high school locker room), an “atomic wedgie is achieved when an aggressor successfully pulls the elastic band of his victims underwear over his head — but only if his boxers or briefs stretch that far.”
The cause of death has been determined to be from blunt force trauma to the head and asphyxiation, concluded Amy Elliott, a spokeswoman for the Oklahoma state medical examiner's office.
