Atomic wedgie murder? Ex-Marine brutally beats man, kills him with atomic wedgie

A former marine, who is allegedly responsible for a so-called atomic wedgie murder, was arrested for killing his stepfather during an argument that eventually escalated into a deadly fight. As reported by News OK on Jan. 8, the suspect in the atomic wedgie murder case has been identified as 33-year-old Brad Davis.

To those unfamiliar with exactly what an atomic wedgie is, Wikipedia reports that an atomic wedgie entails hoisting the waistband of the receiver's underwear up and over their head. According to a report from the Smoking Gun, Davis stated to police that he began arguing with his stepfather Denver Lee St. Clair, 58, on Dec. 21, the night the atomic wedgie murder took place.

Davis told investigators that the two began fighting after St. Clair “began speaking ill of his mother.” Shortly after a heated exchange of words, a violent fist-fight began and it ended with Davis suffocating St. Clair with his own underwear after repeatedly punching him, police say.

Pottawatomie County Sheriff Mike Booth believes that this atomic wedgie murder case may be the first of its kind and he also said he'd never heard of such a thing as an atomic wedgie prior to this case.

“I'd never seen this before, but when we first looked at our victim seeing the waistband of his underwear was around his neck,” Booth said.

The Oklahoma state medical examiner has ruled the case a homicide and revealed that the cause of death was a result of blunt force trauma to the head and asphyxiation.

Authorities have presented a full report to the Pottawatomie County District Attorney's office where a murder charge is expected to be filed. Davis is jailed without bond and he may get life in prison if convicted of the bizarre atomic wedgie murder.
