The Silver Lake (Calif.) Atom Splitters have their opponent in the Professional Bowlers Assn. League semifinals.

It will be the Philadelphia Hitmen, who swept the Pittsburgh Jack Rabbits, 6-0, in a single-elimination quarterfinal round match.

Bill O’Neill led the way for the Hitmen with a 215-212 victory over Osku Palemaa in the singles match. The match aired Sunday from Allen Park, Mich., on ESPN.

Said O’Neill: “Now we have the supposed ‘Dream team’ next, so hopefully, we’ll be able to beat their butts.”

O’Neill was referring to the talent-laded Atom Splitters with three PBA players of the year in Chris Barnes, Tommy Jones and West Malott along with top performers Dom Barrett and Bryon Smith.

ESPN will televise the semifinal match between the Hitmen and Atom Splitters on April 6.

The L.A. X will take on the defending-champion New York City WTT KingPins in the other semifinal match. ESPN will show the contest at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The two winners will advance to the Elias Cup, which will be shown on ESPN on April 13.
