Atlantis Natural, a shop for natural and organic baby products and children's enrichment and wellness education activities held its open house event on Thursday, August 2nd. The shop has moved to a larger suite and is now located on the 2nd floor of the Biscayne Bay Grand/Marriott Retail Plaza at 1717 N. Bayshore Drive, Suite 218, in Miami, Florida. Atlantis Natural is expanding its offerings in its new space, and will present activities and workshops such as organic cooking classes, children's art and dance classes, meditation for mothers, and more. The open house featured sampling of organic cooking by Be Organic, sampling of organic honey from local beekeeper Marcie Davis, a presentation on healthy sleep habits by a sleep specialist doctor from the Grand Health Institute, and a meditation sample exercise with a Miami area psychotherapist.
Atlantis Natural founder Diane Moura described her inspiration for creating the company years earlier in 2002, as she had become aware of how harmful chemicals in our environment and unnatural processed foods have contributed to chronic health problems and serious illnesses such as cancer, which took its toll in her own family. With a desire to educate and empower others Diane started Atlantis Natural as a web-based business that offered natural products and information to help people make more conscious choices in raising their children. Now, a decade later, there is a retail shop where parents can get natural, non-toxic toys, clothes, and personal care products for babies and also find enriching children's activities and a weekly organic produce distribution.
