Nadirah Ruffin, 19, was abducted Saturday night from her friend's house on Maryland Avenue in the inlet section of the city. The kidnapping resulted from a home invasion by four masked men who were armed with guns, according to police.
Ruffin was forced at gunpoint out of the house and into a car.
Since the Saturday night kidnapping there has been no communication or ransom demand for Ruffin. The FBI stepped into the case along with local, county and state law enforcement agencies.
Seven days have passed without a ransom note; law enforcement are considering that Ruffin may have been taken across state lines.
Ruffin is described by police as a medium-skinned black women. She is 5' 4" tall, 120 pounds and has a tattoo on her neck that reads "so sweet." She wear glasses.
Ruffin has a 4-year-old child at home waiting for her return, along with her family and friends. Police say any small piece of information could be critical to the investigation and they are hoping the local community will get involved.
