Event Description:

Join Poetry Atlanta and Charis Books and More for this special tribute to the legendary Maya Angelou. Local poets and writers will be reading poems and passages from Angelou's work.

Confirmed readers include Opal Moore, Alice Lovelace, Theresa Davis, Teri Elam, Karen Head, Malkia M'Buzi Moore, Megan Volpert, Rupert Fike, Amena Brown Owen, Christopher Martin, Lita Hooper, Karen Paul Holmes and Cherryl T. Cooley, who appeared with Angelou on the Oprah Winfrey Show.


The Decatur Book Festival is coming

Date: August 29th- August 31st

Needed: 20 volunteers to staff the AWC tent, in two-hour shifts, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Saturday 8/30, and from noon to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, 8/31.

**You must be a member of the Atlanta Writers Club to volunteer. Join soon.

The Atlanta Writers Club is also having a Workshop this month:
