This DYNAMIC DUO were in the fabulous city of Atlanta, Georgia at the W Downtown … Little Richard joining Cee Lo Green onstage for a Recording Academy fundraiser, where the topics ranged from personal health issues such as Little Richards heart attack, the 2nd Coming of Jesus, MC Hammer to the Ten Commandments as well, Little Richard shared about his ever favorite makeup “Pancake 31”.
Among those in the intimate crowd of about 150 were some of Green’s family, including his sister, Shedonna, as well as other familiar Atlanta names (Jan Smith and her protégé, Alex Hall; Brandon Bush; and Dr. Bobbie Bailey - President of the Annual Georgia Music Hall of Fame Awards Show).
Michele Rhea Caplinger, the Senior Executive Director of The Recording Academy Atlanta Chapter was her brilliant self introducing the two and making the audience feel comfortable and ensuring the success of the evening. BRAVO.
Cee Lo just met the legendary musician Little Richard initially for the first time moments before the event and said. "I wanted to wear something fabulous, to make sure you didn't miss me," while wearing a floor-length brilliant yellow kaftan. Little Richard sat in an overstuffed white chair on stage dressed in sunglasses and rhinestone-studded blue suede boots, nothing short of FABULOUS. While he punctuated his spirited storytelling with a few of his signature high-pitched wails and "a-wop-bop-a-loo-bop."
These two legends in their own rights were the highlight of Atlanta on Sunday and Cee Lo Green will be honored at the 35th Annual Georgia Music Hall of Fame® Awards Show this Saturday, October 5th here in Atlanta.
