Atlanta television star NeNe Leakes's dog rescued

NeNe Leakes is a well-known name and face around Atlanta. The actress, known for her start on Real Housewives of Atlanta, has also had recurring roles on Glee and The New Normal. While in Beverly Hills yesterday, Leakes accidentally locked her Yorkie, Playa, in the car and had to call for help to rescue her dog.

As reported by TMZ on March 5, Leakes, upon realizing that both her keys and her dog were still inside of the car, did what any good pet parent would do and attempted to break into the car to help get Playa out. After several failed attempts, Leakes flagged down a police officer who helped her to open the door and bring Playa to safety.

Leakes responded warmly to Twitter followers who mentioned Playa's rescue:

"RT @BravoAndy: @NeNeLeakes glad to hear Playa is ok<Awwwww Yes he is."

Leakes, Playa, and the rest of Leakes family live just outside of Atlanta in Duluth, GA.
